Home Port for Adventure

If you’re drawn to the boating and marina lifestyle, you’ve come to right place. Albemarle Plantation is home to one of the largest private boat basins on the Eastern Seaboard, with a full-service, deep-water marina that can accommodate boats up to 60-feet in length. From here, a world of endless adventure is within easy reach – the historic towns of Edenton and Elizabeth City, the IntraCoastal Waterway, the Outer Banks and even the Gulf Stream for some of the world’s best sport fishing. And after a day on the water, what could be better than drinks and dinner on the deck of the Dockside Café, the perfect spot to gather and watch the boats return to port?

Life on the Sound

Albemarle Plantation is named after Albemarle Sound, so you know that the community has a strong focus on the water. The Sound has been the centerpiece of the region since before the first European settlers made their way here, and it remains a centerpiece of daily life at Albemarle Plantation.

Marina Activities

The sparkling waters of the Albemarle Sound provide for a variety of water activities: sailing, cruising, swimming, water-skiing, paddling by kayak or canoe, fishing and crabbing. Albemarle Plantation’s marina facilities and services satisfy the needs of both fresh and salt water boaters, and staff is eager to help boaters of all skill levels make the most of a day on the water.

My wife and I moved to the plantation not only because the setting was beautiful but mostly because we wanted a community that had a quality marina for our trawler. We also were looking for a community that let us build our home with our plans and builder - again we found it here. We are both happy we moved here and recommend it to anyone who will listen.
